Thermal Compositor
Introducing Thermal Compositor
Thermal Compositor is the missing link between Delta-to-Plate systems and the quick front to back industry standard Dylux proof. Thermal Compositor makes it possible to create electronic "bluelines" from your Delta Rip. Thermal Compositor merges the color separations in the original Delta job and then creates a
new composite grayscale Delta job, i.e. a Delta job with only one separation. The ultimate job can be output on plate-proofing material, such as DuPont's Thermal Dylux(R), directly from the plate-setter attached to the Delta Rip. This process yields superior yet cost-effective imposition proofing.
Thermal Compositor supports spot colors, the Delta Trapper and the full job resolution, allowing you to see all elements at the correct size and shape. Images are produced on the material with one proofing pass.
Coated on both sides of the paper-based media, DuPont Dylux® Thermal Blueline yields instant front and back images upon exposure to 830 nm wavelength light. It is loaded in a manner similar to that utilized with aluminum plates and imaged with the same optics, laser and screening that are used to image the printing plate. You can produce a high-resolution imposition proof in less than six minutes.

By clicking on the Traditonal Blueline button you will learn the Traditional Blueline mechanism. Next, click on the Introducing CTD and see how DuPont works to bring this important production step into the Computer-To-Plate age. AT Dylux to Delta we will explain how Lucid works with DuPont to extend this to include the popular Delta Workflow Tool. Features and Benefits gives you an insight into the details of how this system brings together the Delta/Dylux Workflow. Return on Investment shows you how you can start saving time, materials, and money on your production jobs quickly and inexpensively.
Features and Benefits
Easy to setup. Typical user can install and setup the initial Thermal Compositor workflow in less than 30 minutes.
Integrated with Delta. Delta Print Manager clearly shows the entire workflow.
Compatible with a variety of output media. While designed for the DuPont Dylux material, the new grayscale Delta jobs can be sent to a single piece of film for traditional Dylux and sent to other B/W devices for checking. Grayscale Delta jobs open faster in the Delta Document viewer.
Exposure control provides control for the mixing of the Color Separations.
Spot Color support. An editable ink table is provided with full Pantone ink listings to provide the CMYK values for spot colors which are used with the exposure setting to image these separations.
Delta Trapper support. All Delta list files are merged, including the traps, into the final grayscale Delta Document.
Full Resolution. Complete Delta integrity is maintained, if the original job is 2540 DPI then the Thermal Compositor job is 2540 DPI. This allows the Dylux proofs to accurately show fine lines, serifs, very small type and other intricate shapes that often disappear or become malformed when printed on low resolution printers.
Multiple Instance support. Multiple queues can be setup and all can be running at the same time with multiple instances of Thermal Compositor running on the same machine. Provides better utilization of multiple processor machines, better workflow setups and overall productivity improvement.
Maintenance and Support contract. Excellent technical support available by telephone or email. The software is well maintained and upgrades are included with the support contract.
No additional hardware required. Thermal Compositor runs directly on the existing online or offline Delta box.
Safe for use with Delta. Thermal Compositor is a stable - separate process - that does not interfere with Delta processes.
System requirements
The software of Lucid Dream Software Inc. is designed to run on Windows NT Server 4.0 or later on an Intel Pentium based processor.
A minimum RAM requirement of 64 MB is needed for the installer to proceed.
The minimum hard disk requirement for the products is 2 MB.
A minimum total disk space requirement is normally 2 gigabytes.
The amount of space utilized varies dependent on the file sizes in use.
